2011 Grand Slam Fishing Tournament

We held Our 2011 Annual Grand Slam Charity Fishing Tournament on April 14th and 15th at the Westshore Yacht Club in Tampa. We are proud to announce that with your support we raised over $120,000 towards our "Embracing Florida's Wounded Heroes" Program.

We kicked off the event with our famous Captain's Party Crawfish Boil. Over 350 guests enjoyed crawfish, crab races, and more! Lester Freeman and 'D' Band performed flawlessly with a special performance by Belinda Womack. Guest speaker and wounded hero, Kathy Champion spoke powerfully touching on the difficulties heroes often face, and how the foundation is here to help.

Coast guard helicopters led more than 60 boats and 250 anglers and captains out on the Bay Friday morning. Anglers had an opportunity to meet and thank our wounded heroes for their service. After a long day on the water anglers waited patiently over dinner and drinks as our 2011 Grand Slam Winners were announced. Congratulations tournament winners!
